PrepareRI for Businesses

The Prepare Rhode Island action plan is demand-driven and employer-led.  Employers know first-hand what skills and experience their workforce needs and how best to grow and nurture the talent pipeline of the future.  PrepareRI works in close collaboration with employers and industry representatives in the Governor's Workforce Board (GWB), the GWB's Career Pathways Advisory Committee, and Real Jobs Rhode Island industry partnerships.

We are preparing youth in three key ways:

Career exploration

We provide programming to introduce youth to growing industries in Rhode Island, and get them excited about possible careers. Learn more about career exploration.

Career expertise

We offer opportunities for youth to build their career expertise through career and technical education programs, course offerings through the Advanced Course Network, advanced placement courses, and dual and concurrent enrollment.

Work-based learning

We coordinate work-based learning opportunities -- such as internships and apprenticeships -- for youth to learn and apply academic, technical, and professional skills and experience the real world of work. Learn more about work-based learning.
